Psychiatric disorders alters taste perceptions

It has been found that psychic disorders both mild and major could even result in your taste preferences. This was a result of a new research which found that neurotransmitters, serotonin and norepineprine lead to these effects. Therefore as a result it is proposed to conduct a small assessment before administering the right treatment for the patient. The intention is to make sure that whenever a patient is administered with an anti depressant drug it suits his taste.

The results of this research were concluded on the sample of twenty healthy adult volunteers. The results have also been published in the journal of Neuroscience of Bristol University. This was conducted by Lucy F. Donaldson, Ph.D and his colleagues.

Psychiatric disorders have lot to do when it comes to the food intake of a person. They could either increase or decrease. In many a case it has been found that psychiatric disorders have been largely responsible for creating illness to a person thorough food intake. This could happen mostly in the negative manner. Usually psychiatric disorder creates lots of problem for food. The person becomes more averse to having food or the person becomes fond of food. Both are equally dangerous and in their own way. It needs to be understood that this problem also needs treatment simultaneously. The reason is quiet simple. A person might not want to be told about his food intake especially when he is suffering from psychiatric illness. In many cases even if one tries to explain it might not be taken in the right manner. The patient will either think he is harassed or he will start thinking that people are labeling him as a glutton in addition to being treated for psychiatric problems. In any case this will only make things worse. Therefore it is very important to take care of this problem in a proper manner. If one does not do it then things will be very worse. It is for this reason that this invention will be of great help in many aspects. Otherwise it might create other side effects as well.
