Antidepressant drugs might induce suicides behavior even in adults

A separate study has been set up to explore the possibility of antidepressant drugs causing suicide behaviors. It is a well known fact they can cause the said effect among young children and teenagers. Therefore the Government of United States of America has taken measures to see if the case is same with others i.e. elderly people. The government has appointed advisers to make a probe and submit the report in this regard. This seemed to be particularly evident for adolescents within the age group of twenty as per many practical and live examples.

The irony is that in the labels of many drug bottles it is mentioned that their intake could cause serious damages like this. Similarly this has also been found to be true on many occasions. As per this arrangement made by the state some distinguished people in the field will make an analysis and as well as decide if the warnings should be either changed or revised.

This whole point has created lots of controversies. Firstly the facts that this can serve to be an inducer for suicide thoughts raise huge hues and cries. The very objective of anti depressants is to suppress these behaviors and so such inducements can be a problem for many reasons. Even if other symptoms of depression are cured this inducement is quite dangerous as it could play with the life of the person.

However psychiatrists hold a different view in this aspect. Firstly they claim that this is hyped too much and such efforts will do no good and cause disrepute to medical science of psychiatry. They argue that this only creates a myth and wrong opinion that psychiatric drugs are dangerous. They also dismiss the fears by saying that they are uncalled for and so they feel that this might not do good as many people would have bias opinions.

The relatives of patients and victims who died due to these drugs do not seem to give up and they are determined to take the issue and say that they have enough medical evidences and supporting documents to substantiate their claim.
