Separation Anxiety Disorder
Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is caused by the fear of being left by primary care takers. This disorder is apparent in children. This disorder causes fear of leaving home, fear that anything may cause to caregivers, fear of being alone or fear of separation.
As a result the child will show lack of interest in attending school and resistance to sleeping alone etc. The symptoms of SAD include nightmares, dizziness, nausea, palpitations, nausea etc
This disorder may continue to occur in teenage also. SAD is normal to occur in infant and toddler stage. Though the precise causes for this condition is not known, death or illness of family members, shifting home, physical or mental harassment may cause SAD. Some people may be genetically predisposed to this disorder. SAD should be checked at the earliest. Otherwise it may lead to panic disorder. As with many other anxiety disorders, early detection of this disorder will lead to complete recovery.
